Who better than our own guests and relations to talk about their experience at Lumen Hotel & Events? In the section 'Guest in the Spotlight', we share these stories. This time, we talk with Kim Kool, HR employee at Salland Engineering. She shares her experiences and insights about her work and the collaboration around organizing the annual symposium at Lumen Hotel & Events. 

Kim has been working at Salland Engineering for twelve years, an international and leading company in the field of test technology and engineering. She started as a secretary and has developed into a versatile professional. In her previous role as Sales & HR support, she was responsible for organizing events, among other things.

Salland Engineering, founded in 1992 and based in Zwolle, specializes in test technology and engineering solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company offers a unique combination of innovative test instruments, application expertise, and supply chain and test services that help manufacturers improve the efficiency and quality of their test processes.

Since 2018, Salland Engineering has been organizing the Test Technology Symposium annually, an event focused on the latest developments in test technologies for semiconductors, photonics, and quantum technology. During this symposium, experts, customers, universities, and institutes come together to exchange knowledge and attend workshops.

Salland Engineering has chosen Lumen Hotel & Events several times as the location for the symposium. Kim: 'The conference location is ideal due to its proximity to Salland, which facilitates logistics. It is within walking distance of our Test Technology Center, which is convenient in combination with the tours we organize for our guests. Additionally, the contact with your team is always smooth and professional. That makes planning and executing the event extremely pleasant.'

Customized Catering

For the break moments of the symposium, Salland chose a carefully curated selection of catering options. From a welcome at the registration desk with a cup of coffee to a tasty lunch and an extensive dinner buffet. 'The catering at Lumen is always of high quality and offers a wide range of options,' Kim notes. According to her, the networking reception at the end of the day is especially appreciated by guests. 'The informal setting in which they can discuss the program afterwards and make new contacts provides a relaxed end to the day.'

Comfort and Convenience Under One Roof

For the two-day symposium, guests from abroad were also invited. Kim explains: 'It is ideal that we can offer these guests a comfortable stay under the same roof as the symposium – at Hotel Lumen.'

According to Kim, the guests experienced both the symposium and the stay at the hotel very positively: 'They appreciated the beautiful location and the hospitable atmosphere. Besides wanting a good collaboration with a location ourselves, the experience of our guests naturally also contributes to the success of the event.
